OMNIMOUNT SUPPORTS MORE THAN JUST TVS

The manufacturer shows its commitment to recycling and support for women in the community through its new textile recycling program, appropriately coined The BRAvo Event.

Phoenix, AZ — OmniMount announces the launch of The BRAvo Event, a significant partnership with The Bra Recyclers, an Arizona-based textile-recycling firm, to collect gently used bras for reuse at local Phoenix women’s shelters. This event combines the company’s commitment to recycling with its award-winning community service. The BRAvo Event will take place during the month of May 2010, with employees, corporate partners and members of the community encouraged to donate.

Elaine Birks-Mitchell launched The Bra Recyclers in October of 2008 to encourage people to recycle old bras and provide a lift to women in need at the same time. Her team has already established several drop-off locations in the Phoenix area (as well as locations in Dallas, TX and Sacramento, CA) where recyclers can donate bras, with the newest location at the OmniMount corporate headquarters. To date, they’ve collected over 40,000 bras from all over the world, including Hawaii, Canada and Hong Kong.

OmniMount’s BRAvo Event kicks off on Friday, April 30, with the unveiling of the custom-built and hand-painted Bra House, a donation center that will be stationed outside the OmniMount headquarters. The company hopes to collect 1,000 bras during the month-long event and will be offering prizes to lucky donors via random weekly drawings. OmniMount will also extend the fun to Twitter by entering people who “tweet” the news into a drawing of their own.

The BRAvo Event is a unique spin on the company’s ongoing corporate commitment to recycling. “In addition to finding inventive ways to recycle, as a company, we’re always interested in supporting worthy causes, especially local ones,” said Annette Carrier, the director of brand marketing for OmniMount. “Finding a textile recycler right in our own backyard made this partnership a perfect fit — pun intended!”

Gently used bras can be dropped off at OmniMount during normal business hours or sent to OmniMount, c/o The BRAvo Event:
8201 South 48th Street, Phoenix, Arizona, 85044.
