In one convenient location, clients can experience accessible bathroom and entrance lifts, learn about custom wheelchair seating, meet the UDS Service Dogs and discover other UDS services, including in-home personal care. UDS will officially unveil the Accessible Living Center, located at 1905 Olde Homestead Lane, to the public on Wednesday, September 29 with a full day of free activities, tours, seminars and special guests.
“Most of our clients’ needs go beyond a single product or service. With all of our services represented in one location, we’ll be able to help them evaluate their comprehensive needs and suggest solutions that will enhance their lives and independence,” commented William Kepner, UDS President and CEO.
The Accessible Living Center features a new showroom displaying bath
and other home accessibility solutions available from UDS Accessible Home Modifications, including barrier-free and step-in showers, grab bars, ramps and more.
The Accessible Living Center is home to the new UDS Service Dogs training room, which was made possible by long-time UDS friend, Ruth E. Lasof. UDS Custom Wheelchair Seating's workshop is also located in the Center. Using state-of-the-art technology, UDS technicians integrate components such as molded orthotic backs, padded hip belts, shoulder harnesses and more to create comfortable seating for people with disabilities.
