LADY GAGA: CRITICAL MASS FASHION

The first book of its kind on Lady Gaga with 120 full-color photos of her avant-garde fashion statements.

Ever since Lady Gaga crawled out of a swimming pool in her “Poker Face” video in a one-shouldered latex catsuit and a mask covered in shards of broken mirrors, she has grabbed the public by the throat with her over-the-top looks.

LADY GAGA: Critical Mass Fashion (September 14, 2010; Griffin Original; $19.99; 9” x 12”) by Lizzy Goodman is the first book of its kind on Lady Gaga—the songstress behind such hits as “Just Dance” and “Paparazzi”—and it’s packed with 120 full-color photos of her avant-garde fashion statements.

Themed chapters such as “Going Pantsless,” “Bondage Chic,” “Mad Hatter,” and “Revulsion as Fashion” include photos and text that put her looks into context, and use Gaga’s own words to connect her fashion to her larger ideas about celebrity. The book also chronicles Gaga’s rise to fame, and her ever-changing public image.

All of Lady Gaga’s “little monsters” will clamor to read this one-of-a-kind book this fall. Select photos are available for reprint, and author Lizzy Goodman is available for interviews.
