San Jose, Calif.,  (May 1, 2012) -  This summer one of the hottest tickets in town will be Charles Ross’ very funny, One-Man Lord of the Rings™, at San Jose Rep from July 24 through July 29. Tickets are now on sale for this special engagement.

Press Opening Night for One-Man Lord of the Rings™  is Tuesday, July 24 at 7:30 pm.  Tickets are available at the San Jose Rep Box Office at 101 Paseo de San Antonio or can be purchased online at www.SJRep.com or by calling 408.367.7255.

Last summer at San Jose Rep, Ross kept audiences laughing with his solo take on the Star Wars trilogy. This time in One-Man Lord of the Rings™, Ross shoehorns 11 hours and 23 minutes of Peter Jackson's epic films into a 70-minute show packed with 42 characters, theme music, and sound effects.

It's a loving comic send-up of Tolkien's fantasy with a true geek's slavish attention to detail. A self-proclaimed "professional geek," Ross began performing in 2002 and he has now performed One-Man Lord of The Rings over 1,200 times in more than 180 cities across four continents.

Sanctioned by the Tolkien heirs, who granted Ross a license to use characters and story elements, One-Man Lord of the Rings has been a hit with audiences and critics since he began touring it in 2004.

Whether a fan of the books, films, or both, you will genuinely appreciate the attention to detail he has paid to his comedic send-up of this iconic, classic tale.

CHARLES ROSS (writer/performer)—a Canadian actor, playwright, and self-proclaimed ‘professional geek’— is best known as the mastermind behind the infamous One-Man Star Wars Trilogy and One Man Lord of the Rings. Ross’ talents have become recognized around the globe. Since first performing his One-Man Star Wars Trilogy in Toronto, Ontario in January of 2001, Ross has brought countless audiences to their feet with his surprisingly unique shows.

Word of Ross’ one-of-a-kind talent has spread like wildfire with recent appearances on The Late Show with Craig Ferguson, The Today Show, and Late Night with Conan O’Brien. His Off-Broadway debut in August 2005 was a smashing success, and had critics raving about the incredible intensity that Ross brings to his work. To mark the release of Star Wars: Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith, Charles Ross was honored to perform at Lucasfilm’s official movie release convention, Celebration 3. Even the likes of Vin Diesel and Sir Ian McKellan have taken in his performances with rave reviews. No matter the engagement—be it a rowdy night out with friends, a matinee with the family, or a Sci-Fi convention for the very dedicated—Charles Ross has entertained the masses with his high-energy and side-splitting romp through Middle Earth or a galaxy far, far away.
