AsusTek Computer Inc. Sued in Product Liability Lawsuit

product liability lawsuit has been filed against AsusTek Computer a customer who claimed the company’s Transformer Primer tablet device was defective.

According to Law360 (subscription required), Colin Fraser filed the class action lawsuit after purchasing the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime TF201 Tablet. He claimed the metallic design of the product impedes "the performance of the GPS when the device receives signals from satellites, and was reported to cause the Wi-Fi to become unreliable."

The product liability lawsuit alleges that AsusTek knew about the defect and apologized to consumers through social media. Fraser also said he would not have purchased the item had he known about the “defect which cannot be remedied.”

Fraser seeks statutory and compensatory damages.
