Stewart, an explorer, adventurist, speaker and author, will solo paddle 1220 miles from Chattanooga, TN to Ft. Smith, AR. While traveling along the Tennessee, Ohio, Mississippi and Arkansas rivers, he will cover the entire water route of the Trail of Tears. The water way was used to transport 2800 Cherokee, who were forcefully relocated under the Indian Removal Act of 1830. He will be raising funds for the new Cherokee Children’s Home in Qualla Boundary, Cherokee, NC.
As a leading sponsor, SylvanSport will provide a GO, the one of a kind mobile adventure trailer, to Stewart for support and transportation.
“In retracing the Trail of Tears, Dale is honoring important historical events while incorporating a modern day sense of adventure,” says Kyle Mundt, marketing director at SylvanSport. “We value his efforts and are thrilled to be a part of his journey.”
Opportunities to interview Dale Stewart are available upon request on Monday June 18th at the Market St. Bridge canoe/kayak launch in Chattanooga, TN from 11:00am to noon. Follow Dale Stewart on his journey at www.expeditionunbound.com.
