Tempe, Ariz. is home to the 23rd Annual Insight Bowl on December 30, 2011 at Sun Devil Stadium. This exciting game will feature the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Oklahoma Sooners. Kick-off is set for 8:00 p.m. MST and the game will be televised live to a nationwide audience on the ESPN Network.

After partaking in college football bliss at the Insight Bowl, many fans will extend their stay to celebrate the New Year at the Fiesta Bowl Block Party, Arizona’s biggest and most exciting New Year’s Eve party. The Fiesta Bowl Block Party takes place in the Mill Avenue District, located next door to Sun Devil Stadium, on December 31 from 5:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. More than 100,000 party-goers annually celebrate the New Year amidst live entertainment, beer gardens, BMX bike demonstrations, magic shows and more. There are multiple stages and a spectacular, outdoor electronic dance club. The headlining musical acts are Tempe’s own Gin Blossoms and country music favorite, Sawyer Brown. There are two fireworks shows at 10 p.m. and midnight and a confetti blast at midnight. All ages are welcome at the Block Party. Tickets are $20 at the gate.

After enjoying the New Year’s Eve festivities in the Mill Avenue District, fans will have the chance for another dose of college football on January 2, 2012 at the 41st Annual Tostitos Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Arizona. The Tostitos Fiesta Bowl will host Stanford and Oklahoma State. Kick-off is at 6:30 p.m. MST and the game will be broadcasted nationally on ESPN.

Football fans are sure to enjoy Tempe’s warm December weather during their stay. Adjacent to the stadium, they can explore the Mill Avenue District’s restaurants, taverns and shops.
