Thorn brings more than seven years of public relations experience to the agency, implementing health education programs for government and non-profit organizations, as well as leading PR efforts for globally recognized clients. Brazel’s background includes more than 10 years of experience in television broadcast journalism.

Thorn comes to The Fearey Group from Waggener Edstrom where she supported strategic communications for the Microsoft Server and Tools Business (STB). Her background also includes work with organizations such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Hewlett-Packard and the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries. Specifically, she supported social media campaigns for CDC, focusing on a range of topics such as HIV/AIDS prevention, early signs of autism, arthritis treatment and extreme heat education. She also led program planning and research in partnership with CDC’s National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH) and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR).

Prior to The Fearey Group, Brazel spent six years as a news writer at KIRO-7 TV (CBS) where she was responsible for developing compelling news stories for assigned newscasts at the Seattle-based affiliate. Prior to that, Brazel was a news anchor in Shreveport, La. for KTAL-6 TV (NBC) covering news stories on variety of topics including health care, politics, business, and technology as well as lifestyle and feature pieces.

Thorn graduated magna cum laude from The University of Georgia, with a bachelor’s degree in public relations and Spanish.
Brazel graduated from Washington State University with a bachelor’s degree in communications and received her public relations certificate from the University of Washington.
