McCrory and Dalton Face Off at Forum Presented by NC Bar Association and News 14 Carolina

Forum Will Be Broadcast on News 14 Carolina and Carolina On Demand

RALEIGH, NC (June 20, 2012) The North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA) will host the first joint appearance by gubernatorial candidates Pat McCrory and Walter Dalton during a one-hour forum on Saturday, June 23 at the Hilton Wilmington Riverside hotel.

The event will be videotaped and aired commercial-free on News 14 Carolina on Sunday, June 24, at 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. Time Warner Cable digital customers will be able to view the forum via Carolina On Demand (ch.199 and 1047) starting June 25.

NCBA Past-President Janet Ward Black will moderate the forum. Questions will be presented by a media panel composed of Senior Political Reporter Loretta Boniti from News 14 Carolina, Multimedia Investigative Reporter Mark Binker from WRAL-TV in Raleigh, and Investigative Reporter Stuart Watson from WCNC-TV in Charlotte.

McCrory, a former seven-term mayor of Charlotte and three-term member of the Charlotte City Council, is the Republican Party nominee. Lt. Gov. Dalton, who served six terms in the N.C. Senate, is the Democratic Party nominee.

Since the forum is being held in conjunction with the NCBA’s annual meeting, it is not open to the public.
