“Since we believe strongly in the democratic process, we think a viewer’s choice contest is a fun way to allow the public to weigh-in on the selection process of our next Miss North Carolina,” said Jason Lockhart, Carolina On Demand manager. “By watching the videos, North Carolinians can also learn about the talented women representing their communities across the state leading up to the live event.”
Through June 20th, the public can view the contestant videos at News14.com or through Carolina On Demand (channels 199 or 1047). After watching the video clips online, the voter should simply click the LIKE button for the contestant he or she thinks should be named a finalist. You must be a Facebook member to cast your vote online. Contestant videos may also be watched on Carolina On Demand. Every viewing equals one vote. You must be a Time Warner Cable digital customer to watch programming on Carolina On Demand. The contestant that receives the most “LIKE” votes online and views on Carolina On Demand will be named the Time Warner Cable Viewer’s Choice Contestant and compete as the 11th finalist during the live competition. “All of the views on Carolina On Demand count as a vote and a “LIKE” vote on News14.com gives everyone a chance to share their choice on Facebook. This enables viewers to cast their vote over and over again,” added Lockhart.
The Miss North Carolina pageant will air live at 8:00 p.m. on June 23rd on Time Warner Cable’s Special Events channel 520. An edited version of the finals will also be available for viewing on Carolina on Demand starting on Monday, June 25th.
