Time Warner Cable customers in Ohio can now watch a unique form of extreme sports on Local On Demand channel 411. Called the Mountain Dew Slush Cup, the event mixes winter and summer sports as participants ski or snowboard down a slope to discover a pool of green-colored water they must navigate across at the bottom.
The event is a timed race, but many find it difficult to avoid plunging, often times face first, into the water. There is also a prize for “best wipeout.” Participants get into the fun spirit of the Slush Cup by wearing non-traditional snow gear – swimming trunks, bikinis, tank tops and various headgear.
A 15-minute show from the event, held annually at Snow Trails Ski Resort in Mansfield, can be viewed on Time Warner Cable’s Local On Demand (LOD) channel 411 in the SPORTS category.
