Select home games to air on TWC TV in Maine & New Hampshire

Time Warner Cable today announced that cable TV customers in Maine and New Hampshire can watch select live home games of the Portland Pirates, an American Hockey League affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres.

The live broadcast schedule includes Saturday's Pirates game against the Norfolk Admirals and ends March 26 when the Pirates host the Charlotte Checkers. The games will be shown live in New England on TWC TV, channel 9 in Maine and channel 21 in New Hampshire. The live broadcasts are part of Time Warner Cable's commitment to bringing customers local sports programming, including high school football and professional hockey and basketball.

The play-by-play announcer for the Portland Pirates is Mark Jeanneret, the communications director for the Pirates. Former Maine Mariner Paul Evans provides the color analysis. The games are broadcast live from the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland.

"Portland Pirates home games are one of the hottest tickets in town, featuring future stars of the NHL, and we're thrilled to partner with the Pirates to bring these games home to our customers in New England and Western New York," said Todd LaSalle, Time Warner Cable's director of programming for Maine and New Hampshire. "It's another example of our commitment to providing our customers with unique, local sports programming."

"To have our games telecast in Time Warner Cable Sports is an important aspect of our efforts to deliver the excitement of Pirates hockey to as much of the region as possible," Pirates Managing Owner/CEO Brian Petrovek said. "The reach of their programming and the technical expertise in which they produce the games is parallel to the standards we have established as an organization."
