Since founding Switch in 2000, Roy continues to revolutionize data center capabilities. He has more than one hundred and twenty-four (124) patent claims to his credit and has created the technology industry’s most powerful and unique telecommunications purchasing gateway, called the Switch CORE. In addition to his investment in Tracky, he also serves on Tracky’s Board.
This is a personal investment for Roy, and as the founder of the NV Angels, represents the first funding deal by the newly formed angel group in Nevada.
What will Tracky do with Roy’s investment?
Tracky will use the funds to hire more talent, refine its productivity product and ramp up its online marketing initiatives. With this investment, Tracky has raised $1.5 million in angel funding to date.
“David and Jennifer Gosse are two amazing young entrepreneurs. They are exactly the kind of thought-leaders that the state of Nevada needs in its current mission of celebrating its unique technology assets and in its diversification of the economy,” stated Roy.
Tracky’s software is housed in the SuperNAP in its own cloud, but will soon migrate to Switch’s new small business cloud. Switch is customizing a cloud hosting environment for qualifying small businesses highlighting some of the best cloud technology available. This move will provide Tracky the ability to infinitely scale its user base.
Tracky’s social collaboration software is currently being utilized by busy individuals, political agencies, national foundations and global brands. Roy’s investment will strengthen the company’s position as a leader in developing truly open social collaboration technology, support its marketing plans and provide the cloud hosting infrastructure for large-scale user growth.
In addition to his involvement with Tracky, Roy also sits on several notable professional and community boards including the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development, the Intel Capital Advisory Board and the Brookings Institute. He is also the founder of the CloudCranium Technology Innovation Think Tank and the Global Technology Infrastructure Consortium.
Tracky is an online open social collaboration platform that encompasses to-do lists, live chat, calendars, task management, people and project discovery, social accountability, cloud-based storage and more. At Tracky, we don’t want our community members to be humorless doer-drones; we want them to express themselves, be themselves, create a portfolio of projects that represents who they are, and feel empowered by the Tracky community to get amazing things done. We’re all beautiful snowflakes. And it’s true: No matter who you are, Tracky can help you manage—and enjoy—your busy life.
