(TRAVPR.COM) TOURISTLINK LAUNCHES - THREE CITIES AND THREE SUMMITS TOUR OF ASIA

Summit the highest peaks in Korea, Taiwan and Malaysia and see the sites in Taipei, Seoul and Kota Kinabalu.

(TRAVPR.COM) USA - May 25th, 2012 - Touristlink.com announces a special package offering adventure seeking vacationers the opportunity to climb the highest peaks in Korea, Taiwan and Malaysia and experience the booming megacities of Seoul and Taipei. This fast paced and action packed trip is short enough at 11 days that it can be fit in a 2-week vacation. The trip culminates with a trek to the top of Mt Kinabalu (4095m/13435ft) the tallest mountain in Malaysia and in all of Southeast Asia where participants will enjoy an incredible sunrise from the summit. The trip requires dedication and reasonable conditioning but participants don’t need to be athletes.

The trip starts in South Korea with a tour of Seoul where we visit Yook-Sam (the tallest building), the National Museum of Korea and go to Dongdaemun Gate a popular street market. We then fly to the Island of Jeju where we climb Mount Halla the tallest peak in South Korea. This giant shield volcano literally dominates the island and views of the island and the surrounding miniature volcanoes are fantastic. Many travelers make the journey to Hallasan in June just to see the Azaleas in bloom. Mount Halla is a National Park and World Heritage Site that is home to over 2000 species of rare and exotic plants and over 5000 species of animals many that are endemic to the island.

The next stop is Taiwan where the group will experience Taipei 101 the worlds tallest building and the Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall an iconic landmark of Taipei. Following the tour of Taipei we leave the city and spend 2 days on the Yushan Trek to reach Mount Yushan 3,952 metres (12,966 ft) the tallest in Taiwan. Yushan was elected one of 28 finalists in the New7Wonders of Nature voting campaign.

The trip ends in Malaysia where we trek to the top of Mt Kinabalu (4095m/13435ft) the tallest mountain in South-East Asia and enjoy the incredible sunrise from the summit of Kinabalu. The short but steep 8km clims starts at 1800m and passes through the lush terrain home to rare orchids and carnivorous pitcher plants. Progressing upwards the rich forests give way to small plants and finally the open granite slopes of Mt. Kinabalu. Unlike most mountains in Southeast Asia which are volcanic in nature Mount Kinabalu is a great example of a massive pluton formed from granodiorite more similar to the famous Half Dome of Yosemite National Park. Mt Kinabalu is a steep hike but worth it for the great views and experience.

Trip leader, David Urmann, will lead the expedition as it marks the first group deal offered by Touristlink in this part of Asia.
