Weidert Group adds Sean Johnson to agency staff

Veteran journalist will specialize in public relations and social media

Appleton, Wis., - Weidert Group, a Northeast Wisconsin full-service marketing agency, announced Sean Johnson has joined the agency as a public relations and social media specialist.

Johnson will help Weidert Group clients position themselves as leaders and experts with their target audiences. He will assist them in strengthening their brand using both traditional means and the latest opportunities available in the fast-paced universe of online publishing and social media. Using the concepts of Public Relations 2.0, he will work with clients to develop the message and the tools to directly engage their customers and prospects.

He joins the agency at an exciting time, as Weidert has positioned itself as a regional leader in Inbound Marketing. The creation and management of fresh, dynamic content play an important role in that process, said Greg Linnemanstons, president of Weidert Group.

"With the growing importance of content, we were pleased to find someone with Sean's writing and editing experience who also understood all of the new tools that are available," Linnemanstons said.

Prior to joining Weidert Group, Johnson worked in a variety of media roles throughout the Midwest, including working as a reporter, editor and new media developer with newspapers in Missouri and Wisconsin. He also taught as an adjunct professor of journalism at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and worked as a freelance journalist writing for regional business and education publications.

"I've been a storyteller all of my life, and the clients at Weidert have some great stories to tell." Johnson said. "Now, I have many more ways to help tell those stories, from traditional press to Twitter and Facebook."

Johnson is looking forward to incorporating all of those tools within the Inbound Marketing platform that Weidert Group has developed. Inbound Marketing is a strategic business development approach enabling businesses to effectively attract, measure, and analyze web traffic and systematically convert traffic to leads, and leads into customers.

Away from the office, Johnson is involved with teaching soccer - a true passion since before the age of 9. Johnson has coached youth teams from Oshkosh, Neenah and Appleton, as well as on the collegiate level at Ripon College. Aside from soccer, Johnson's interests include travel, reading, kayaking and spending time with his family.

Johnson lives in Neenah, Wis., with his wife and two children.
