Brown will be working closely with Weidert Group's marketing team throughout the fall 2010 semester, assisting with the company's client services department initiatives.
This is Brown's first internship experience in marketing. Currently, he is enrolled at the University of Wisconsin- Oshkosh and is pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing. Brown previously attended the University of Wisconsin- Whitewater (2003-2006) where he majored in Marketing and minored in Coaching. This is his senior year at the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh and is planning a December 2011 graduation.
Brown has been involved in several extracurricular activities, including the American Marketing Association, the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Marketing club, the Sales and Marketing Professionals of Northeastern Wisconsin and the University of Wisconsin Whitewater Track and Field team, which he feels have enriched his academic experiences. Brown serves as the president of the UW Oshkosh Marketing club where he organized a student/ professional golf outing, leads weekly club and board meetings, promotes weekly events through social media and guerilla marketing, coordinates trips to tour local companies and coordinates fundraising.
"In any field, you can only learn so much in the classroom, but the real learning takes place on the job," Brown said. "I am thankful that Weidert Group is giving me the opportunity to grow as an aspiring professional, learn the ins and outs of marketing and how to apply them in real life situations."
