Bedore will be working closely with Weidert Group's public relations team throughout the fall 2010 semester assisting with event planning, media relations, online marketing and social media.
This is Bedore's first internship experience. Currently, she is enrolled at the University of Wisconsin- Oshkosh and is pursuing a major in Journalism with an emphasis in public relations. Bedore is also working towards minors in the areas of Spanish translation and creative writing. This is her junior year at the university and is planning a May 2012 graduation.
Bedore has had a number of academic experiences in public relations that have created a solid foundation for her internship at Weidert Group. She is the treasurer of the university's chapter of Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), where she feels she has gained valuable skills that will assist her while working at Weidert Group. Bedore recently returned from the 2010 National Conference in Washington D.C.
"In the public relations field, I think that it is extremely important to have experience working in the field before the post-graduation job search begins," Bedore said. "Internships add a different dimension to the learning process, and I am very excited to have the opportunity that Weidert Group has given me."
