LENOX, Mass. – An autumn showcase of one of New England’s premiere wedding destinations will return for its second year in Lenox, Mass., in the heart of the Berkshires from Monday, Nov. 12 to Thursday, Nov. 15.
Wedding planners, bridal media, and couples interested in exploring wedding options in Lenox will have the opportunity to tour venues, sample fine cuisine and wines, view ceremony and reception décor, and more.
The 2012 Lenox Wedding Tour itinerary includes:
• A Welcome Dinner at Wheatleigh hotel, one of the Berkshires’ famed mansions known as cottages;
• A day and a half of venue tours;
• A Vendor Showcase at Seven Hills Inn, an historic Gilded Age Mansion;
• A cocktail reception with desserts at the Relais & Chateaux property, Blantyre;
• A Table Design Challenge at The Cranwell Resort & Spa;
• Dinner with the Designers, also at Cranwell, and
• A Think Tank luncheon at the Apple Tree Inn.
The Lenox Wedding Tour was launched in 2011 by Katherine Lockridge, the current President of the Lenox Chamber of Commerce and owner of Classical Tents and Party Goods, Dawn Carberry, local business owner and chamber member, and Lisa Light, owner of Destination Bride, LLC.
“More than 50 local businesses enthusiastically came on board to support the tour as sponsors, assisting in lodging, transportation, dining and event service,” said Lockridge. “Due to that overwhelming response, we’re pleased to work on an even bigger and more creative event this year.”
Last year, the Tour was attended by 21 luxury-destination wedding planners and media professionals from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Florida, Georgia, and Massachusetts. Seventy-two local businesses participated as sponsors or showcase vendors, among them Grace Ormonde Wedding Style Magazine, Crane & Co, Jane Iredale Cosmetics, Seagroatt Riccardi, Abbott’s Limousine and Livery Service, and Classical Tents and Party Goods.
“By creating this event, we’ve essentially built a Berkshire wedding team,” said Light, a wedding planner. She added that she’s seen her own Berkshire-based sales increase by 30%. For more information, visit www.lenoxweddingplannertour.com or the Lenox Wedding Tour Facebook page.
