Annapolis, Md. (April 12, 2012) – The annual AACS Grandparents Day will be held on Friday, April 13, at the Lower School located at 710 Ridgely Avenue, Annapolis, Md. from 8:20 am- 11:00am. The day’s events include a meet and greet morning reception, chapel service featuring performances by Lower School students, classroom visitation, and the option for AACS guests to enjoy a lunch date with their grandchild. During the classroom visits, AACS guests will participate in discussions about “life back then” and other activities such as making crafts together and sharing of school life.
While visiting, AACS guests will have the opportunity to expand the AACS Lower School library selections by donating a book to the Lower School library in their grandchild’s name. Books will be available for purchase on Grandparents’ Day for a donation of $15.00. Participants are encouraged to visit the book table and take a picture along with their grandchild to create a customized bookplate that will be added to their book for students to enjoy in the years to come.
“The AACS Grandparents Day is a great opportunity for students to preserve a memory with their special loved ones and share their educational experience,” said Mrs. Nancy Pavlischek, AACS Lower School Principal. “We know what a special role these individuals play in the lives of our young people and we welcome this opportunity to say “thank you” and to honor them in this way,” she added.
