Heading up PTG’s sales group, Mr. d’Eon joins to help PTG scale its field operations to handle current and new contracts with wastewater treatment plants domestically, and to manage increasing market interest from new industrial sectors. He brings more than 25 years in the water and wastewater industries, with expertise that includes application engineering, sales, business development, management, and contract administration. Mr. d’Eon has held senior sales and engineering positions at various Fortune 500 companies in the United States and Canada.
Mr. Bell expands PTG’s engineering team as senior engineer. He is a mechanical engineer and designer with more than 25 years’ professional experience in the water treatment, purification and filtration sector, as well as with medical devices. His prior company experience includes Gelman Sciences and Bazell Technologies.
“We are pleased to welcome these two phenomenal individuals to our team,” said Greg Ryan, CEO and co-founder of Pasteurization Technology Group. “They are joining at a perfect time — just as we ramp up our sales and engineering efforts to handle the strong demand that we’re seeing from a variety of industries that range from municipal wastewater treatment plants to treatment in breweries and food and beverage industries. We are very excited to be growing our team in order to meet these market opportunities.”
Q1 2012 highlights
Market opportunities for PTG continue to build as its core markets, wastewater treatment plants and the food and beverage industries. These facilities face mounting pressure to control costs and curb the use of toxic chemicals and excessive energy use. The PTG patented system disinfects wastewater using environmentally friendly methods. Highlights of the initial quarter of 2012 include:
• Closed venture capital investment by EIC Ventures.
• Growing sales backlog across a variety of industries, domestic and international
• Accelerating revenues with multiple contracts with wastewater treatment plants
• Launched the new mobile PTG System XM-5 for quick deployment and to fast-track pilot studies
• Selected to present in the Entrepreneur Showcase at the 2012 Cleantech Forum San Francisco
PTG transforms treated wastewater into a valuable resource
PTG is the first and only company in the world to combine wastewater disinfection with renewable-energy generation. PTG’s patented technology can use the digester gas (often referred to as biogas, a natural by-product of wastewater treatment) as fuel to drive a turbine that generates renewable electricity. The hot exhaust air from the turbine (energy that is typically wasted) is then passed through a series of heat exchangers that increase the temperature of the wastewater to a level that disinfects the wastewater stream. PTG’s technology is significantly more cost-effective and more energy-efficient than other methods. And, unlike other wastewater disinfection approaches, PTG’s systems do not require toxic chemicals such as chlorine, or costly electrical power and expensive UV lamps.
About Pasteurization Technology Group
Located in San Leandro, California, Pasteurization Technology Group is a venture-capital backed company that is revolutionizing the disinfection of wastewater. PTG’s systems utilize its patented “two-for-one” technology that combines wastewater disinfection with the generation of renewable energy. PTG’s process is one of only a handful of technologies to pass the stringent standards of Title 22 in the state of California for the disinfection of water for reuse. By channeling the typically wasted exhaust heat from a turbine to disinfect wastewater, PTG’s process is the most energy-efficient and lowest-cost solution on the market. PTG won the 2011 BlueTech® Go-To-Market Strategy award and the Popular Science 2011 Best of What’s New award, and was featured on the 2012 Cleantech Forum Entrepreneur Showcase.
