Buffalo, N.Y. – Zachary P. Schneider, Partner at 15 Fingers, will be on a panel with other experts Saturday, October 22 at 1:30 p.m. at Daemen College’s Screening Room at Duns Scotus Hall to share tips and best practices on how artists can effectively and inexpensively market themselves and their work. This discussion, which will also include a question and answer portion, is part of a multi-day workshop presented by the Arts Services Initiative (ASI) and New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA). The title of the event, “Artist as Entrepreneur Bootcamp,” is aimed at delving into “the fundamental principles of sustainability in the arts. Topics to be featured include finance, law, marketing and fundraising,” according to Daemen’s website.
Schneider’s portion of the series will examine ways artists can generate attention for their work using strategic approaches including social media, traditional communications and both personal and professional networking opportunities. Other speakers on the panel include Leslie Calimeri, Digital Communications Manager, Chautauqua Institution, and Gary Sczerbaniewicz, Artist.
“As an entrepreneur, I’ve come to realize that building a strong personal and professional brand is essential to the success of my businesses,” Schneider said. “There are a lot of resources and tactics out there that cost little to no money, and go a long way toward extending the reach of what I’m trying to promote. I’m happy to share what I know with Western New York’s bourgeoning arts community.”
Schneider and Partner Greg Neundorfer lead 15 Fingers, a full-service advertising agency, Consumer Marketing Services, which provides merchandising, retail and event management services to 15 Fingers’ clients, and Ru’s Pierogi, Buffalo’s newly-opened gourmet pierogi restaurant and manufacturing facility.
The “Artist as Entrepreneur Bootcamp” takes place from October 20-23, and attendees are required to sit in on all the sessions. The bootcamp is free and open to the public, although registration ended in August. For more information on ASI and NYFA, including future events, visit their websites.
