Mr. Boy coming to 39th Street in Fall 2017
Jakob Polaco, owner of Aep, Creating Rolled Ice Cream Shop
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (July 10, 2017) — Jakob Polaco, owner of Aep, a Thai cuisine restaurant on 39th Street, officially announces plans to open a new concept, Mr. Boy, this coming fall. Mr. Boy will make its debut in the space adjacent to Aep at 1815 West 39th Street, Suite B. The approximately 400 square foot space will serve guests rolled ice cream with a variety of unique flavors and toppings.
Polaco’s vision for Mr. Boy came from his travels to Southeast Asia during his culinary research for Aep. Throughout his travels, Jakob sampled a variety of rolled ice cream vendors at the street snack stalls each featuring a slightly different approach. The performance art of creating rolled ice cream is something that Jakob has longed for since his travels. He plans to bring the popular dessert ice cream treats with creative ingredients to Kansas City at Mr. Boy.
The menu will feature selections with recipes influenced from different desserts and dishes found in Southeast Asia. Lassi, a cold and refreshing yogurt drink with rose hips and buttermilk, Vietnamese coffee and durian are all among the flavors of ice cream that will be found at Mr. Boy. Guests will also be able to choose from a variety of toppings to make their own creations.
