19, October 2016: From the Airwheel new products of Airwheel Z series and E series, we can see that the self-balancing electric scooters
are no longer the main products of Airwheel. Both Z series and E series
do not belong to the self-balancing products. However, many of us are
still not clear about the self-balancing electric scooters.

Nowadays, a green means of transport different from traditional one, self-balancing scooter, is increasingly seen in people’s daily lives. However, many of us are still not clear about the self-balancing electric scooters. Today, we will get closer to Airwheel and know about scientific principles of this means of transport employing the technologies and materials.
Airwheel electric self-balancing scooter is based on the basic theory of “dynamic homeostasis”, i.e., self-balancing capability of the scooter itself. It judges attitude and state of the bodywork through built-in multi-axis gyroscope and accelerometer, gives a proper command via precise and high-speed computation of an intelligent chip and achieves homeostasis by driving the motor. These models include X series, Q series, S series and A series self-balancing 2 wheels scooters.
An agile ride depends mostly on intelligent balancing chip of Airwheel. The intelligent chip in Airwheel self-balancing scooter achieves self-balancing in all directions via aerospace attitude control theory, fuzzy software algorithm and gyroscope system. Taking the overall longitudinal axis of a rider standing on a scooter and the scooter as a line of reference, the in-built motor will generate a forward force to balance the torque when the rider and scooter tilting forward and makean acceleration; on the contrary, it will also generate a backward force to achieve balance when the gyroscope detects backward tilt of center of gravity.
Besides, its state-of-the-art processor framework results in remarkable improvement of performance. The central processor is capable of 1024floating-point calculations per second, multiple times of common intelligent chips. All these contribute to smooth riding experience, rapid response to accidents and safety guarantee for riders. Another feature differentiating Airwheel self-balancing scooter from traditional means of transport is intelligence, which, intuitively, provides a “protection mechanism” for Airwheel. For example, Airwheel is equipped with triple protection and, in case of unsafe tilt, over speed and low battery, will give a proper warning to ensure the safety of riders.
