Blue Federal Credit Union hosts grand opening party to celebrate new branch

Blue Federal Credit Union celebrated the opening of their new branch in Old Town on Saturday Oct. 8 by throwing a grand opening party open to the public.

“We had so much fun at our grand opening party and appreciate everyone who stopped in to say hi and check out our new location,” said Stephanie Teubner, CEO of Blue Federal Credit Union.

Attendees toured the new branch while enjoying complimentary drinks, food, music, prizes, and local art. The location’s distinctive design represents Blue’s commitment to Old Town’s character, while offering new and existing Blue members a personalized and engaging experience.

Fort Collins artist Chris Bates completed two new paintings during the grand opening event and Blue is honored to have both paintings permanently housed at the Old Town branch. Bates has previously contributed artwork to the Fort Collins community through public murals and a collaboration with Odell Brewing Company. Grand opening guests were also treated to live music played throughout the event by local musician Nancy Just.

“It’s really great that a credit union is so involved in the community,” said Bates. “They’re not just saying it, but doing it. Blue is hiring local artists and caterers for this party, which just shows their investment in Fort Collins. I’m excited to see a local business working to affect change in a positive way for our community.”

Prizes were given away to attendees every hour during the grand opening, including a bike from Recycled Cycles, a Boardworks Supernatural stand-up paddle board and oar, and gift packages from Fort Collins businesses and shops on Mountain Ave.

Blue, formed by the 2016 merger of Warren Federal Credit Union and Community Financial Credit Union, joined the Fort Collins community in 2013. Understanding the opportunity for growth in the region and recognizing the potential for the type of community involvement that has defined the organization for decades, Blue opened a branch on Boardwalk Drive to provide the area with exceptional financial products and services.

“Old Town really has a unique feel and culture,” Teubner said.  “There is so much happening and it's such a vibrant area. To take advantage of that and get involved seemed like a great fit for us."

Blue is an active supporter of community events and non-profit organizations, and a proud official sponsor of Colorado State University athletics.
