The White House website announced today
Obama's initiative to provide Computer Science education for students K-12.
Further, an additional $100 million is being requested for direct funding
for school districts and $135 million Computer Science funding to become
available starting this year from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and
the Corporation for National And Community Service (CNCS).
Recognizing the increasing need for these skills, and noting over 600,000
available high-paying jobs going unmet last year in our nation, the
President's initiative further requests the assistance of policy makers,
private sector businesses and educators to make this a national priority.
