Cheyenne native could be Verizon's next CEO

Bloomberg Technology this week reported that a Cheyenne native has been put on a short list of candidates to be Verizon's next CEO. Marni Walden, 49, who grew up in Cheyenne, is currently Verizon's Executive Vice President and President of Product Innovation and New Businesses. Walden has been in her current position since February 2015, the company states , and has worked her way up through the ranks starting as an AirTouch Cellular branch director in Colorado and Wyoming, before serving stints as a regional president in several locations and as the chief marketing officer. According to Bloomberg, should Walden be selected as the new CEO she would be the first woman to ever hold the position. Walden has been instrumental with go90, a project challenging YouTube.
