Happening Today: Fireman's Ball, kids crafting, Watershed Gala and More

(Jackson, Wyo.) - Are you looking for something to do today? Here is what's happening around the County: *Spotlight on Eric Carle Craft:* On Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Teton County Library, there is a kids event to color hats with an Eric Carle twist. The event is free. For more information, contact Beth at, 307-733-2164 x118. *The Cherry Orchard Play:* The Cherry Orchard presented by Off Square Theatre Company, is showing at the Black Box Theatre at 2 p.m. this afternoon. In Anton Chekhov’s final full-length play, an impoverished landowning family is unable to face the fact that their estate is about to be auctioned off. A local merchant presents numerous options to save it, including cutting down their prized cherry orchard, but the family is stricken with denial. Charting the descent of a wealthy family, the play creates a bold meditation on social change, materialism, and our relationship to the land we live on. More information on the play is available at *Dancers' Workshop presents Sans Souci Festival of Dance Cinema:* DW welcomes the international Sans Souci Festival of Dance Cinema in its first-ever visit to Jackson Hole. The Festival will offer screenings of documentaries and short art films in the Center Theater. Two new films from DW's own Hole Dance Films, founded by local dancers and filmmakers Carrie Richer and Kate Kosharek, will share the limelight with additional juried Festival films during the Shorts Screening. Moviegoers are invited to join Hole Dance Films after the screening for a meet-and-greet reception to celebrate their new work.
