(Jackson, Wyo.) - Yesterday, Forbes released its annual list of the top ten ski resorts in North America
and Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) ranked number one on the list.
The media group uses an algorithm they call PAF (pure awesomeness factor)
to rank the ski resorts. According to the article, the algorithm digests 30
categories of data for each ski resort. They analyzed 220 ski resorts in
North American with this formula to determine the top 10.
JHMR ranked number one with a PAF of 99.00. The article states that,
"Jackson Hole, a perennial favorite of the PAF algorithm, celebrates its
50th anniversary this year by adding a lift that will grant easier access
to its top ridge on the north end of the resort—and its high backcountry
gate into Granite Canyon."
It goes on to defend the ranking with, "We judge the terrain at Jackson Hole
to be the best in
North America. If you disagree, register your complaint in the comments
section and we can brawl about it."
We have to say that we agree!
