BREAKING: Pedestrian in fatal crash identified

(Jackson, Wyo.) - A Jackson, Wyoming resident is dead after a fatal crash yesterday south of Jackson. Andrew S. Weber, 51-years-old, sustained fatal injuries from the crash that occurred at 6 p.m. on US Highway 89 near mile post 149 approximately one mile south of Jackson. For unknown reasons, Weber attempted to cross the five lane section of US 89 while wearing dark clothing in dark and unlit conditions. A northbound 2010 Toyota Highlander, driven by 47-year-old Jackson resident Richard McMullen, did not see Weber as Weber darted in front of the Toyota. The Toyota struck Weber throwing Weber into the left hand lane of northbound US 89. After coming to rest, Weber was struck by two more northbound vehicles before traffic came to a stop. Alcohol use by Weber is being investigated as the contributing factor in this crash. US 89 was temporarily closed with traffic being detoured around the crash scene. Weber marked the 137th highway fatality in Wyoming for 2015. There were 140 fatalities during this same time period in 2014. #buckrail #news
