(Jackson, Wyo.) – Here is a recap of local dispatch and law enforcement activity from yesterday in the Town of Jackson and Teton County. All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty. There were 48 calls to the area dispatch on Monday, November 23. *Crime Reports and Arrests * Public Intox/Battery: At 12:20 a.m. early Monday morning, Jackson Police officers responded to a report of a fight outside a local restaurant. The fight had ended by the time officers had arrived but the involved parties and witnesses were still on scene. Officers determined that Jose Yanez Salinas, 27, of Jackson was the primary aggressor and it was determined he was too intoxicated to care for himself. As a result, he was charged with public intoxication and battery. Fraud: On Monday at 9:24 a.m., a subject reported to the Jackson Police Department that he sold an IPhone on ebay. When the buyer received the phone, he requested to return the phone and requested a refund. The seller agreed to refund the money once the phone returned. The money was refunded to the buyer once PayPal received a tracking number. When the phone was receive back by the seller, it was found to be a different phone that was significantly damaged. PayPal is following up on the incident. Theft: On Monday at 11:32 a.m. on Monday, a subject reported to the Jackson Police Department that he left a gun at his ex-girlfriend’s residence and when he returned for it, she told him she had sold it. The victim has not decided yet whether or not he wants to pursue criminal charges. *Collisions* Yesterday, there were six auto collisions including one hit and run, one that involved injuries and one that resulted in the death of a Jackson resident. Hit and Run: On Monday at 12:32 p.m., a subject reported to the Jackson
Police Department the mirror on her parked vehicle was struck and damaged
by a passing vehicle. A suspect vehicle is known and follow-up continues to
locate the other party.
Other dispatch reports included snow tow warnings, animal control calls,
driving complaints, motorist assists, lost and found property, medical
assists, and citizen assists.
