Jackson Hole Ski and Snowboard Club to exceed 500 athletes this year

(Jackson, Wyo.) - This year, the Jackson Hole Ski and Snowboard Club (JHSC) is expecting to have more than 500 athletes register between their 23 different training teams in the Nordic, Alpine and Freeride (snowboard & freeski) programs. Training for these young athletes officially began last week , but many of the athletes train year-round. Some athletes will travel to other regions like Colorado or Utah for early season training depending on available facilities like terrain parks," said Jeff Moran, director of advancement for JHSC. "Many athletes train year-round with JHSC at our dry land and on-snow summer camps." According to Moran, many of these young athletes are at the top of their sport, competing in hometown events all the way up to World Cup and professional level events. "Our athletes tend to do tremendously well with hundreds of podium placings earned throughout the Club each year," Moran added. *[image: Inline image 1]* *h/t Jackson Hole Ski and Snowboard Club / Pitchengine Communities* And the training, as well as improved facilities and new access to terrain offered locally, is expected to pay off. "I predict that the improved facilities at Snow King Mountain and the new lift-accessed terrain at JHMR [Jackson Hole Mountain Resort] will both have a direct, positive affect on our athletes training opportunities, which will lead to even more podium placings throughout the year in alpine races, Nordic races, slopestyle and halfpipe competitions as well as big mountain freeride events," said Moran.
