(Jackson, Wyo.) - Snow King Mountain has extended its restriction on uphill travel on the mountain. According to the recent statement from Snow King posted on Facebook
, "with continued race
training by the Jackson Hole Ski and Snowboard Club, ongoing snowmaking
work, and limited navigable terrain, it's become clear that uphill travel
is not safe. Ongoing snowcat work with use of winch cables can be expected
day and night for the next 7 days. We appreciate the cooperation and
patience of the public as we work to get the mountain ready for opening day
next Saturday December 5 at 10 a.m."
Recreation on Snow King Mountain initially closed
to the public two weeks ago when
officials began preparation for the NorAm racing series.
