JHHS kicks off winter sports and activities

(Jackson, Wyo.) - As of yesterday, all of the Jackson Hole High School (JHHS) winter sports and activities have begun practicing for the season. JHHS winter sports include boys and girls alpine skiing, boys and girls basketball, cheer, dance, boys and girls nordic skiing, speech and debate, and wresting. According to JHHS Activities Director Mike Hanson, speech and debate started on October 12, nordic skiing started November 16, alpine skiing started November 23 and Wrestling/basketball began yesterday. Cheer and dance are year-round, but included an additional round of tryouts in October. Hanson looks forward to winter activities after an great fall performance from JHHS students. "We had a tremendous fall season with two team state championships (girls cross country and girls swimming and diving) as well as some individual state championships (tennis and swimming and diving)," said Hanson. "We are looking to continue that momentum into the winter seasons and continue to uphold the strong traditions we have had in alpine skiing, nordic skiing, and speech and debate. We will have a lot of new faces on our basketball and wrestling teams and will build upon last season's efforts." According to Hanson, kids can still join certain activities and if they are interested, they should contact him here . Parents should make sure that they have all of the proper forms submitted for their student. All of the forms are available on the JHHS activities website . *Feature Photo: h/t JHHS Alpine Ski Team / Pitchengine Communities* #buckrail #news #gameticker
