Bartenders from across Wyoming to mix and shake for state title

(Jackson, Wyo.) - After regional competitions all over the state, 11 bartenders will battle it out to for the title of Wyoming's best in a live drink mixing competition in Jackson tonight. At the Annual Wyoming Whiskey Bartender Shootout, mixologists must create a drink with more than two and less than six ingredients that isn't a shot, a fishbowl and doesn't call for fire. Tonight's winner will walk away with $2,500, the Bartender Shootout Champion Belt Buckle. $500.00 to the Bartender's resident bar, Blizzard Skis, and the title of Wyoming’s burliest, surliest, and best bartender. Of the 11 competing, five are from local bars, three are from Laramie, two are from Riverton and one is from Cody. Here are the finalists - Laura Keeler from The Rose for her drink “Little Horsethief” (Jackson) - Sam Miller from the Q Roadhouse & Brewery for his “The Sundance Kid” (Jackson) - Chad Taylor from the Amangani for his drink “22 Blvd” (Jackson) - Brittany Fells from the Rose for her drink “Haleakala” (Jackson) - Meagan Schmoll from The Rose for her drink “Long Kiss Goodnight” (Jackson) - Michele Prevost from Juniper Bar & Market & Bistro for her drink “The Pronghorn” (Cody) - Audrey King from Bar 10 for her drink “Fiddler’s Flower” (Riverton) - Rylee Watson from Bar 10 for her drink “The First and Last” (Riverton) - Justin Darnell from Roxie’s for his drink “Cowboy Coffee” (Laramie) - Jenny Drew from Front St. Tavern for her drink “The Bootlegger’s Blush” (Laramie) - Griffin Murphy from Front St. Tavern for his drink “Jim Bridger” (Laramie) The five judges will score the bartenders on the appearance of the drink, imagination/creativity and tastes and they will lose points for sloppiness, spillage, and time consumption.
