Saturday Event Roundup: Holiday Festival, Opening of Snow King, TubaChristmas and More

(Jackson, Wyo.) - Here is #whatshappening today around the town and county: *Opening Day for Snow King Mountain:* Snow King Mountain opens to the public. Read more in Buckrail's recent article, "Lifts to roll on Snow King Mountain's 77th season." *Victor Holiday Festival and Light Parade:* Tomorrow all day, this event includes storytelling, turkey bowling, Santa visits, a light parade, fireworks and more. Learn more in Buckrail's recent article, "Victor to light up with holiday festivities tomorrow." *LEGO Builders at the Teton County Library:* This family friendly program encourages creativity and fun while building LEGOS. At the end of the building time, each person can share their creation. The event is held in the Teton County Library Youth Auditorium at 11 a.m. on Saturday. *TubaChristmas:* TubaChristmas was established in 1974 in memory of one of the world's foremost tuba players, William J. "Bill" Bell, retired professor at Indiana University and former member of the NBC Symphony under Toscanini, the Sousa Band, and the Goldman Band. The Jackson Hole Community Band has sponsored and presented TubaChristmas since 1992, and players from ID, NV, and other locations throughout western WY have joined our local band members this festive event. The event is tomorrow at 12 p.m. at the National Museum of Wildlife Art and is free to the public. *Art Market Days:* The Art Association's first annual Holiday Art Market runs November 18 - December 12 in the Art Association Gallery space. Each week, 8-10 regional artists will display their wares for locals and Jackson visitors to purchase. Even if you aren't in the market to buy, the event is free to attend and fun to check out local artists. Today, the market goes from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. For more information, check out Buckrail's recent article, "Art Market Days gives the community a chance to shop local artists for holiday gifts ." *Health Insurance Marketplace:* At 10 a.m. at the Teton County Library Computer lab, the library will offer 45-minute, one-on-one sessions with a certified navigator for community members wishing to make changes to their federal health insurance marketplace application or start a new application following qualifying life events. Registration is required. Sign up at the Library Front Desk or call 733-2164, press 1. *Charles Dicken's A Christmas Carol:* The play is presented at Pierre's Playhouse in Victor, Idaho. More information is available at http://www.pierresplayhouse.com/. *Raptor Encounters: *With the change of season, Teton Raptor Center’s Raptor Encounters program will be offered on Saturdays at 2pm at the Hardeman Ranch in Wilson. This hour-long educational experience with live birds of prey includes opportunities to meet many of TRC’s resident raptors and visit the rehabilitation clinic. Space is limited and reservations are required. Program fees benefit the birds and support Teton Raptor Center’s mission of helping birds of prey through education, conservation and rehabilitation. *Elks Spaghetti Fundraiser:* All You Can Eat Spaghetti Dinner with Silent and Live Auction Fundraiser to benefit the Good Samaritan Mission at the Elks Club. Silent Auction will include 2016 Golf Packages, Ski Packages and Retail Gift Certificates. Live Homemade Dessert Auction starts at 7 p.m. and features homemade pies, cakes, and cookies. The event costs $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for kids 8-12, and free for kids 7 and under. The event is at the Elks Club, 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. *Jackson Hole Moose Hockey: *Tonight, the Jackson Hole Moose Hockey club will play Denver at the Snow King Sports and Events Center. The game begins at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are $10. *100 Years of Frank Sinatra:* From 7 - 10 p.m. at the Pink Garter Theatre, step back in time to a 1960's supper club evening and celebrate the incomparable crooner, Frank Sinatra with his long-time friend and road manager Tony O. Chef Rene Stein will prepare an family-style Italian inspired dinner. Featuring music by the Pam Phillips Trio and the Jazz Foundation of Jackson Hole. Tables for dinner and general admission tickets without dinner available.
