Scott Fitzgerald named executive director of Silicon Couloir

(Jackson, Wyo.) - Today, Silicon Couloir announced that it will begin 2016 with a new executive director. Scott Fitzgerald, former owner of Fitzgerald’s Bicycles, will assume leadership of the three-year-old nonprofit organization after working with Charlotte Moats (outgoing ED) and the Silicon Couloir board during an onboarding process through December. After serving as the first Executive Director of Silicon Couloir, Moats announced earlier this Fall she would be moving on to pursue a new job opportunity in the ski industry. According to the organization, her departure triggered an extensive recruitment process, which led to the selection of Fitzgerald. While running Fitzgerald’s Bicycles in Jackson and living in Teton Valley, ID, Fitzgerald also turned his attention to local politics as an elected City Councilman and Mayor of Victor, ID. “My time in politics allowed me to see a different side of our community and develop even more diverse relationships. I understand what it takes to run a business in the Tetons not only through running one myself, but because I have spent a lot of time contemplating policy that drives the business ecosystem of the Tetons.” said Fitzgerald. “It’s really a perfect fit for me. Silicon Couloir is looking to grow as an organization and I am looking to apply my passion for community and business development. It’s truly a win win.” With Fitzgerald’s leadership, the Silicon Couloir board is looking to strengthen their existing programs such as Chance Meetings, Pitch Day, Angel Mentor Group, and Leadercast, and continue to work closely with Central Wyoming College on the Startup Institute. *Feature Photo: Scott Fitzgerald. h/t Silicon Couloir / Pitchengine Communities* #buckrail #news
