(Jackson, Wyo.) - The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Tetons, Gros Ventre Mountains and Yellowstone National Park until noon tomorrow. According to the advisory, "a winter storm will bring snow to the mountains and a mix of rain and snow to the valleys this afternoon and early evening. The snow will be heavy at times and winds will be gusty from the southwest throughout the night and into tomorrow... reducing visibility in blowing snow and creating hazardous travel due to significant blowing and driving snow, especially over Teton Pass tonight and for the Tuesday morning commute." The weather statement predicts 6 - 12 inches of snow in most areas, with higher amounts along the west facing slopes and much less expected Mammoth area and lower elevations of Yellowstone National Park.
