Snow King gets town funding for NYE fireworks and torchlight parade

(Jackson, Wyo.) - Snow King Mountain approached the Town Council last night to ask for funding to support the New Year's Eve fireworks and torchlight parade event. According to Snow King GM Ryan Stanley, who spoke at the meeting last night, last year the mountain had $16,000 for the event. For this year, Snow King has already received $5,000 from the Travel and Tourism Board, $2,500 from Snow King Hotel and $2,500 from Snow King Mountain. Stanley hopes to raise more money this year through the help of the Town of Jackson and private donors. "We are seeking more money to have a bigger fireworks show and better display this year than last year," said Stanley. Stanley added that the town has supported this event in the past. Councilman Don Frank supported the funding and described the event as "one of the most magical evenings of the year, which is a free event, which draws thousands of residents and visitors." The Town Council voted unanimously to approve $2,500 in funding for the Snow King Mountain fireworks and torchlight parade. *Feature Photo: 2014 Torchlight Parade on Snow King Mountain. h/t Snow King Mountain / Pitchengine Communities* #buckrail #news
