Wyoming ranks #25 in health, #1 in air quality among U.S. states

(Cheyenne, Wyo.) - How healthy is Wyoming? According to the annual report released by America's Health Rankings , Wyoming ranks 25th compared to other states (no change from last year). Although ranked right in the middle of the states for overall health, Wyoming did rank best for low poverty in children and low levels of air pollution. Specifically, Wyoming ranked: - *#1 in low percentage of children in poverty:* About 10 percent of Wyoming children are living in poverty, ranking 1st in the U.S. - *#1 for air quality:* Wyoming ranks 1st in the U.S., with 5.0 micrograms of fine particles per cubic meter. - *#7 in low prevalence of diabetes*: Wyoming ranks 7th in the U.S., with 8.4 percent of the population being diabetic. According to the report, in the past year, children in poverty decreased 25 percent from 14.1 percent to 10.6 percent of children. Additionally, in the past two years, infant mortality deceased 28 percent.
