JHMR opens Sublette today, full mountain by this weekend

(Teton Village, Wyo.) - With winter storms the last few days dropping almost a foot of snow in the Tetons, and more expected over the next week, the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) announced that the full mountain is scheduled to open by this weekend. Today, Sublette Lift is scheduled to open. On Friday, December 18, the Aerial Tram will open for the season and on Saturday, December 19, the resort will open the new Teton Lift, Eagle’s Rest, Sweetwater, Moose Creek and Union Pass chairs. Saturday, December 19 is the Official 50th Celebration, with a “First Chair” ceremony at the Teton Lift around 9:30 a.m. After the lifts close JHMR welcomes all skiers and snowboarders to join a community celebration that kicks off at 4:30 p.m. at the base of the Bridger Gondola with Santa arriving on his secret 50th sleigh at 5.00 p.m. sharp. The celebration includes outdoor music, a free showing of the 50th anniversary movie Born to Be Wild and a fireworks show that will be set to five decades of music.
