Sunday Events: Winter Solstice Celebration, ornament making, and more

(Jackson, Wyo.) - Here's what is happening around the county today: *Santa on the Square: *Santa will be on Town Square each evening from 5 - 7 p.m. beginning December 15 and running through Thursday, December 24. Town Square is lit with thousands of glittering lights and the Stage Stop Building on the southwest corner of the square will be as warm and cozy as Santa's workshop. Children are invited to bring their wish lists and parents are reminded to bring their cameras. More information is available here . *Winter Wonderland Ice Skating on Town Square: *Join in the fun of Ice Skating on the Town Square, in the Winter Wonderland! The rink plans to open on the 15th of December and remain open until January 23rd. *Nativity Scene on the Town Square* *Winter Solstice Celebration and Stargazing at R-Park:* Join Rendezvous Lands Conservancy for a Winter Solstice Celebration beginning at 4 p.m. at the far northwest corner of R-Park and then stick around for stargazing beginning at 5:30 p.m. Stargazing will take place from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. at the same location as it did this summer at the far northwest corner of Rendezvous Park, near the location of the gravel pit. *Ornament Making at Hotel Terra: *Kids, ages 3-12, are welcome to this free event where they can create their own ornament with Jackson Hole Art Association. Hot Cocoa will be provided. The event is at 3 p.m. at Hotel Terra. *Holiday Spectacular on Ice:* Starting at 2 p.m. at the Snow Kice Ice Arena and Events Center is the Holiday Spectacular on Ice, which is a holiday show hosted by the Skating Club of Jackson Hole. Skaters of all ages and abilities will showcase a variety of jazzy holiday numbers to delight audiences of all ages! Not your typical holiday show. The cost is $10 - $15. *Live Music with the Stagecoach Band:* Tonight starting at 6 p.m., the World Famous Stagecoach Band “Church” Stagecoach Bar Style will perform great country music and dancing This band has played every Sunday for over 40 years. *Taize at St. John’s Episcopal Church: *From 7 -8 p.m. on Sunday, Taize is an all-inclusive sung and silent participatory prayer service designed to achieve a contemplative state through music, song and silence.
