Monday Dispatch: Theft, fake ID, DUI and more

All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty. There were 56 calls to the area dispatch on Monday, December 28. *Crime Reports and Arrests * Sexual Assault: On Monday at 12:30 a.m., a sexual assault was reported to the Jackson Police Department. At this time, no information can be released. Theft: At 1:20 p.m. on Monday, a person reported to the Jackson Police Department that her wallet was stolen from inside her shopping cart while at grocery store. False ID: On Monday evening at 9:53 p.m., according to the Jackson Police Department, 18-year-old William Oakley of Pike Road, Alabama was arrested for attempting to use fake ID to enter bar. DUI: At 11:49 p.m. on Monday night, 48-year-old Louis Smithwick of Jackson was arrested for DUI after running his vehicle off the road way and failing field sobriety testing. *Collisions* Yesterday, there were five auto collisions, none of which involved injuries. *Other* Other dispatch reports included citizen assists, medical assists, snow tow citations, motorist assists, traffic problems, lost and found property, and animal control calls. #buckrail #news
