(Jackson, Wyo.) - Town Council unanimously approved the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Town of Jackson and the Flat Creek Water Improvement District (FCWID) last week. According to staff documents, the MOU is not meant to be a legal or binding agreement, it’s meant to serve as a written communication and working agreement between the two organizations to help define roles and responsibilities as they move forward in the years to come. The FCWID was formed in spring 2016 and met with the Town Council on March 16 to discuss roles and responsibilities for each board. At that time, FCWID made formal request to Council for FY16 budget assistance to help fund the first year of operations. Town documents state that "The Public Works department will provide assistance with operating the thaw wells, some creek monitoring and sharing our many years of knowledge and experience with FCWID organization."
