Looking to the Future: Alumni speak to students about life after high school

(Jackson, Wyo.) - Today, 21 former graduates of the Jackson Hole Community School came back to speak to the students about life after high school. The alumni, which were recent grads, college students, business owners and local professionals, sat at the front of the room, introduced themselves and answered questions from the students. "The idea behind it is welcoming our alumni back to reconnect with the school and our current students, but most importantly to give advice," said Amy Fulwyler, the Head of School for the Jackson Hole Community School. The kids asked about adjusting to city life, how to balance school with activities and sports, and making the decision to take a gap year between high school and college. During the event, conversation between the students and alumni was active and could have continued long after the 40 minutes of scheduled time. "I think the alumni had great advice and the students had great questions," said Fulwyler. "It is always really gratifying for us to see our alums out in the world doing so many different things."
