Winter dog park now open, location moved to fairgrounds along Snow King Ave.

(Jackson, Wyo.) - The winter dog park is now officially open on the Teton County Fairgrounds along Snow King Ave. The location of this dog park has been the subject of much debate in the last several months. At the December 8 Town Council meeting, officials voted on the winter dog park to be placed at Mateosky Park. However, after hearing complaints from local residents, they changed the location to the of the temporary dog park to along Snow King Ave. on the fairgrounds, which was where Councilmen Jim Stanford initially suggested the park should be in a November meeting. Late last week, Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation announced that they opened the winter dog park. The park is located in a fenced-in area immediately west of the Heritage Arena on Snow King Avenue. The Parks and Recreation Department has enclosed the area with buck and rail fence that is lined with mesh bottom and placed mutt mitt stations and garbage cans at the park. Parks and Recreation staff has also posted signage at Mateosky Ballfield reminding dog owners that dogs are not permitted on the fields and redirects them to the newly created dog park. *Feature Photo: Winter Dog Park at the Teton County Fairgrounds. h/t Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation / Pitchengine Communities* #buckrail #news
