Holiday Weekend Dispatch: DUI and public intox arrests, battery, theft and more

(Jackson, Wyo.) – Here is a recap of local dispatch and law enforcement activity from this past holiday weekend in the Town of Jackson and Teton County. All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty. There were 186 calls to the area dispatch on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. *Crime Reports and Arrests * Public Intox: On Saturday morning at 1:18 a.m., according to the Jackson Police Department, Blaine Mathews of Jackson, was arrested for public intoxication after creating a disturbance and refusing to go home when asked by officers and friends. Public Intox: Early Saturday morning at 2:39 a.m., according to the Jackson Police Department, Mark Wilks of Jackson was arrested for public intoxication after initially taking a cab home, but then telling the cab driver to drop him off so he could return and drive his own vehicle home. Officers intercepted him before he was able to do so. Assault: On Saturday at 11:23 a.m., according to the Jackson Police Department, an elderly person with dementia slapped other elderly person with dementia three times. No names will be disclosed. DUI: On Saturday at 4:09 p.m.,a REDDI vehicle was reported and stopped by the Jackson Police Department. According to the Jackson Police Department, Nathaniel Kascoli of Jackson was arrested for DUI after performing poorly on standard field sobriety testing. DUI: At 9 p.m. on Saturday evening, a vehicle was stopped by the Jackson Police Department for lane and signal violations. Jennifer Burnside of Jackson was arrested for DUI after performing poorly on standard field sobriety testing. Theft: At 1 a.m. on Sunday morning, according to the Jackson Police Department, a woman left wallet in bathroom and when she returned all her money was gone. Battery: At 2:10 a.m. on Sunday morning, according to the Jackson Police Department, Colin Gardner of Jackson was arrested after he battered bar staff when they refused to serve him alcohol after hours. He was also charged with Interference with a Police Officer when he refused to provide his name when lawfully requested to do so. Public Intox: at 8:54 p.m. on Sunday evening, Jackson Police officers responded to a call of an intoxicated subject. According to the Jackson Police Department, Justin Maikoff, of Jackson was arrested when officers found him staggering down the sidewalk, giving officers his cell phone when asked for identification, and pointing the wrong direction to his intended destination. Attempted Burglary: At 3:18 p.m. on Monday, the Jackson Police Department recieved a report of subject unsuccessfully attempting forced entry into victim’s room while everyone was gone. DUI: At 11:25 on Monday night, Jackson Police officers attempted to stop vehicle for lane violations. Vehicle attempted to allude officer, colliding with fence, before being trapped in a dead end and detained. According to the Jackson Police Department, Anthony Mastromonaco of Kelly was arrested for DUI after performing poorly on standard field sobriety testing. He was also charged with Eluding and Destruction of Property. *Collisions* There were 15 auto collisions this past holiday weekend, including two hit and runs and three that involved injuries. *Other* Other dispatch reports included citizen assists, snow tow citations, lost and found property, code enforcement, motorist assist, road hazard, civil standby, motorist assist, welfare checks, traffic problems, and animal control calls. #buckrail #news
