Teton County names new Public Information Specialist

(Teton County, Wyo.) - Teton County announced this week that Cindy Harger has joined the County Commissioners’ administration office to aid in community outreach, public information and media requests through the position of Public Information Specialist. Harger is a former newspaper and broadcast journalist, who also has a strong background in organizational communications, marketing and strategic planning. “The Teton County Board of County Commissioners is dedicated to increasing its level of communication with the public as to items on our regular agenda, as well as issues pertaining to greater policy decisions,” said Barbara Allen, Chair of the Teton County Board of County Commissioners. “We look forward to having Cindy on board to help us continue to expand and improve our communications with the residents of Teton County.” Harger will support the Teton County Board of County Commissioners and county departments in day-to-day community outreach and public information needs, providing information services during county-wide emergencies, and developing strategies to ensure important information is readily available to the public. “I love waking up in one of the most beautiful places in the world, knowing that just about everywhere I go -- from the coffee shop to the post office -- I will run into someone who is like family to me,” said Harger, who has lived and worked in Jackson Hole off and on since she was nine years old. “Yet, I realize that Jackson Hole is more than gorgeous mountains, unique wildlife and unparalleled recreational opportunities. Beyond the beauty, there are real issues to overcome to keep Jackson Hole healthy and vibrant. The county government is front and center on those issues,” Harger said. “My goal has always been to use my passion for communications in a way that will make a difference in my community, and I can’t think of a better opportunity than serving Teton County.” *Feature Photo: Cindy Harger. h/t Jonathan Adams Photography / Pitchengine Communities* #buckrail #news
