JHHS students get honorable mention at state We the People Competition

(Laramie,, Wyo.) - Yesterday was the Wyoming We the People competition in Laramie and the Jackson Hole High School team came out with an honorable mention. According to statewide organizer Matt Strannigan, the Sheridan students came in first, Cheyenne Central was second and Laramie was third. Jackson, Glenrock and Casper Kelly Walsh teams received honorable mentions. Here are the full results: - 1st Place State Champions: Sheridan & Coach Tyson Emborg - 2nd Place: Cheyenne Central & Coach Sara Miller - 3rd Place: Laramie & Coach Meaghan Todd Honorable mention: - Casper Kelly Walsh & Coach Paula Volker - Glenrock & Coach Chase Anfinson - Jackson & Coach Jim Rooks During We the People events, students are asked about the U.S. and Wyoming Constitutions, the documents' long history — even before this country was founded — and the documents’ application to present-day situations.
