Local athletes win big at Special Olympics Winter Games

(Teton County, Wyo.) - On February 3 and 4, Jackson's Community Entry Services (CES) had several athletes participate in the Special Olympics Winter Games. The CES athletes competed in the alpine at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, and snowshoe and cross country at Teton Pines. Although the competition was fierce, all of the 12 CES athletes brought home multiple medals. In total, CES brought home 11 gold medals along with many silver and bronze. “As a coach, the best part is to see how genuinely happy each client is for each other.” Lindsay Long, director of CES. “The sportsmanship and team encouragement is quite impressive. We can all learn something from them.” According to CES, everyone was tired after two long days of fun, but left the Village and Pines with smiles on their faces.
