Happening Today: Powder 8s, skijoring, live music and more

(Jackson, Wyo.) - Looking for something to do today? We've got you covered: *Powder 8s: *As a part of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort's Grand Reunion Weekend, the Powder 8’s, presented by GoPro, will host teams from all across the west with the top three teams vying for $10,000 in prize money. The competition officially begins at 10:30 a.m. at the Cody Bowl. *Teton Valley Winter Farmer's Market:* MD Nursery is once again running their Winter Farmer's Market. The market is held every Saturday until March 12 in Driggs, Idaho. *Winter Trails Day:* Tomorrow is officially Winter Trails Day and a chance for community members to try something new on the snow for free. There are events on Teton Pass, Stilson Lot, Cache Creek and Grand Teton National Park. For the full schedule, read Buckrail's article "Tomorrow: Try something new on the snow for Winter Trails Day." *LEGO Builders:* On Saturday starting at 11 a.m. at the Teton County Library, this family friendly program encourages creativity and fun while building LEGOS. At the end of the building session, each person can share their creation. The event is free. *Ranger-Led Snowshoe Hike:* Today starting at 1:30 p.m., join a ranger for an educational and fun hike through the snow. Rangers offer guided snowshoe hikes from the Taggart Lake Trailhead. Programs begin on December 26 and run through mid-March, 2015, conditions permitting. Reservations are required, call 307-739-3399 for more details and to make reservations. Please wear appropriate winter clothing (e.g. hat, gloves, snow/wind pants, boots, etc.) and don't forget your sunscreen and sunglasses. Snowshoes are available from the Grand Teton Association for a suggested donation of $5. Hikes last two hours, ending at 3:30 p.m. *Raptor Encounters: *Today at 2 p.m., this hour-long educational experience with live birds of prey includes opportunities to meet many of TRC’s resident raptors and visit the rehabilitation clinic. Space is limited and reservations are required. *Skijoring:* The skijoring competition is at Snake River Ranch, just outside of Teton Village at 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.More information on the competition is available here . *Chanman Solo at the K Bar: *On Saturday from 4 - 6 p.m., Chanman will play apres' ski at the K Bar in Teton Mountain Lodge. Songs from Chanman's new CD "Chanman solo," ski bum originals and standards. The live music is free and open to all. #buckrail #news
